Summary:
Membership fees are $60.00 for most membership categories including:
- Junior Activity Members 5 to 13 years
- Cadet (13-15 years) Members, with the exception of new members
- Active (patrol) members 15-65 years, with the exception of new members
- Reserve Active Members 20-65 years (Note: renewal as a Reserve Active Member is not automatic and requires endorsement by the Club Captain)
- Long Service Members 26-65 years, Associate Members including Nipper Parents 18-65 years.
The following exceptions to the $60 membership fee apply:
(i) Joining fee for new members who will be candidates for the Surf Rescue Certificate or Bronze Medallion training courses.
A joining fee applies to new members who will be completing either the Surf Rescue Certificate or Bronze Medallion training course in 2026/27 year. This includes 13 year old Junior Activity Members, Cadet members (13-14 yrs), and Active members either 15-18yrs or 18-65yrs.
The joining fee of $120.00 covers the training course and membership fees for two years, viz the current year (2026/27) and the following year (2027/28).
(ii) Concession for members 66 years of age and over.
A $40.00 concession fee is available for Active (patrol) Members, Reserve Active Members, Long Service Members, Associate Members and Honorary Members 66 years of age and over, and in possession of an Aged Pension Card or NSW Seniors Card.
(iii) Community Members
A fee of $30.00 applies for Community members.
(iv) General Members
A fee of $25.00 applies for Sea Eels winter swimming members, in addition to the membership fee payable to the Sea Eels.
(v) Life Members
No fee is payable by Life Members.
(vi) Family memberships
A maximum fee of $240 applies for a family when both parents and two or more school children become members; if the family group includes a new member or members for which a joining fee is payable, ie a candidate for the Surf Rescue Certificate or Bronze Medallion training course, an additional fee may be payable.
