G'day all. How good was Sunday?. Finally able to get back into the water and dust off the old paddling arms. We had an awesome turn out with 23 Nippers from Under 9's to Under 14's strutting their stuff alongside the IRB's and a visiting humpback whale.
Thanks to the parents that attended, all encouraged whilst adhering to COVID regs.
The Coaches and HSP Water Safety Team have designed a program that we believe will encourage our nippers to develop skills and confidence in the water.
There are varying degrees of ability among our Nippers. For the first couple of weeks we plan to use board training to identify the level of ability and confidence of each Nipper.After the first couple of weeks, it is the intention, at this stage, that the nippers attending board training (we need a group name - suggestions welcome) will be split into three sub groups. There will be three separate board training sessions a week to accommodate the different sub groups and provide appropriate water safety. To assist in identifying the group to which a Nipper belongs the levels will be named;
Level 1 - Red (beginner)
Level 2 - White (intermediate)
Level 3 - Blue (experienced)
At this stage the following training times and dates have been identified for Nippers to attend Board Training.
SUNDAYS - ALL LEVELS (Red, White and Blue)
20/9 and 27/9 2pm start at Coalcliff,
4/10 and 11/10 2pm start at Stanwell Park
18/10 and 25/10 730am start at Coalcliff
1/11 for duration of season: 730am start at Stanwell Park.
THURSDAYS - White and Blue Levels
8/10 for duration of Season: 430pm start at Stanwell Park.
TUESDAYS - Red Level
13/10 for duration of Season: 700 - 800am at Stanwell Park.
As always timings and locations are dependent on conditions. There are also stringent requirements regarding water safety so any parents that are interested in assisting please come and see the HSP Water Safety Team.
