Helensburgh/Stanwell Park competitors were out in full force again over the weekend with our junior team competing at the Cronulla IMB carnival.
In hot conditions, our kids competed against the strength of the Bate Bay clubs, coming home with some great results. Pocket rocket Jacinta Davidson-Bunch claimed GOLD in the U/9 Female Sprint as well as GOLD in the U/9 Female Flags, with team mate and good friend Naia Hughes-Nichols taking home the bronze medal. These girls have been the talk of surf club circles ever since they dominated during the NSW State Titles in Kingscliff back in February and it looks like they will be there again next year, ready to take on the might and power of the Sydney clubs. Not to be out done by his female teammates, Jack Bridges showed why he will also be one to watch later in the season, taking home the U/9 Male Flags title. Well done Jack!
We also had some great results in team events with our U/11 Female Relay, U/12 Male Relay and U/14 Female Relay all claiming medals against tough competition.
Congratulations to all the kids that competed on the weekend. It's great to see so many of our Stanny youngsters competing strongly and representing our club proudly.
