Great results from the Seagulls at the SLSNSW - Age Championships at Blacksmiths Beach on the weekend of 3 - 5 March 2017.

Even though the contingent that headed up the coast were small they were might in voice and enthusiasm.

2 very good results with 2 Bronze Medals.

  • Jack Bridges finishing up his nippers career with a Bronze in the U/14 Male Beach Flags
  • Maddi Agnew continued her personal haul of medals with a Bronze in the U/12 Female Beach Sprint

A big surprise was the clubs All Age Beach Relay Team making it into the final on the final day of competition, a great effort from Indiana McDonald (U/9), Ben Agnew (U/10), Jessica Dornjak (U/11), Maddi Agnew (U/12), Ava Rushton (U/13) and Jack Bridges (U/14).

Other competitors having a run at the carnival were Gracey Bridges (U/11), Mia Corliss (U/12), Abby Bailey (U/12), Sabine Rogers (U/12) and Lachlan McDonald (U/14).

A big thankyou to our ever reliable beach official Carl Williams, who drove up and back twice to make sure the club had officials on the beach.

An even bigger thankyou to the parents, family and friends who supported our competitors in some less than perfect conditions.

Monthly Meeting to be held at TRADIES Helensburgh on Monday, 08 August 2016 starting at 07:00pm

All welcome.

Meetings will return to the last Tuesday of each month, at Tradies Helensburgh starting at 07:00 pm from 30 August 2016

A big thanks to the Lawrence Hargrave Centre for donating a bunch of specially commissioned Box Kites for our Nippers.

The season concluded with a unique Box Kite Relay, with nippers aged from 6 to 14 running a beach relay race while flying a kite.

Congratulation to all the participants in todays IMB Mega Wade Race. It was meant to be an Ironman Event, but due to ex-TC Winston the surf was up and unsafe for our nipper to be in.

Well done Tahlia Bailey on winning the Senior Event, it was daylight 2nd, 3rd and 4th she won it by so far, and not to be outdone in a slightly closure race with the lead changing a number of times was Noah Furher in the Junior Event.

The winner both recieved a $50 Bank Account from the IMB Bank who sponsored the event. Thankyou IMB Bank for your support.

ironman finish

As well as the breakup day activities this Sunday 28 February 2016, the club will be holding an Ironman for each age group.

All members will be encouraged to compete in these events. Starting at 9:30am.

The IMB Bank has donated 2 x $50 Accounts which will be given to the winner of the U/14 and Junior Event.

Also, on the day as part of the Festival of Flight that was postponed from November the Lawrence Hargrave Committee will be on hand to give out specially commissioned kites. If the conditions are right, we might have a massive kite flying event.

Open a new IMB Zoo Account for kids under 12 years at the Helensburgh Stanwell Park Surf Club and get a $10 head start into the new account and IMB will also donate $10 to the club. Head over to the IMB Bank set up on Sunday 28th February and get your kids savings started. It will only take 10 minutes to open the account. Fill out the form attached and bring it along on the day.
