The Stanwell Park Sea Eels Winter Swimming Club will be having their first swim for the season on Sunday, 29 April 2018 at 9:15am, followed by the Sea Eels AGM at Helensburgh-Stanwell Park SLSC.
The Sea Eels will be returning to their newly refurbished home the very picturesq Coalcliff Rockpool.
All swim races are handicapped, so swimmers are really competing against their own personal best times with the aim being to be closest to your time. There are some longer distance swims for the more hardy souls and a whole of club relay to finish of the mornings events.
A pointscore is run for all swimmers, but the real goal is to swim every week, and at the end of the season compete for the title of Slippery Eel.
The club is all about keeping active and social during the winter months, after the swim members return mainly to Helensburgh-Stanwell Park SLSC for soup, fines, raffles, laughs and beverages.
There are a number of inter-club visits and swims planned already for the season including a visit by the ladies from Bondi Icebergs, swimming at the South Metropolitan Championship (Bondi Icebergs Pool), a swim with the Bulli Sea Lions and a number of other days in the planning.
Membership is open to everyone
SLSC Members $20, SLSC Families $40
Non-SLSC Members $35
