Phil started swimming with the club in May 2000, and has 12 years service with 197 swims. (Hasn't missed a year since then).

8 Years Distinguished Servive

6 consecutive years as secretary - 2002 to 2007

Secretary 2009 to 2011

Total of 9 years as Secretary

Duties as secretary include all correspondence in and out of the club, all paper work to do with monthly meetings and AGM's. Liason with WSAA and SCWSA for competition events as well as other clubs for social events.

For many years organised the soup roster

For many years has organised trophies for presentation day.

Always puts up his hand for additional soup when needed.

Resurrected the club after committee implosion prior to 2003 season.

Clothing officer for many years. Phil was responsible for many of the famous touring shirts, many of which are in circulation in other clubs after being swapped at the Aussies.

After many delicious LAKSA soups from Phil's Soup Kitchen the SEX award was created to honor Soup EXcelence.

Assisted as scretary last time the Sea Eels arranged the SCWA Championships.

Always willing to assist in juding and time keeping as required.

Great supporter of CRAM Foundation involving his family and even arranging dentistry for the residents.

Phil has always been a hard working and diligent member.

He goes about his duties as if they are fun not a chore.

He embodies the true spirit of winter swimming with his enthusiasm for camaraderie and a drink with his mates.
