The Stanwell Park Sea Eels played host to the pool-less Cronulla RSL Winter Swimming Club. Cronulla RSL's regular pool was damaged in the June 2016 East Coast Low Storms, and since then have been swimming around for their weekly swim.
The 6 Cronulla swimmers joined in the Sea Eels swim heats, and also a couple participated in the 100m event, Carol finishing 2nd at 1.80 sec inside her nominated time...nice work.
The two clubs competed in a 6-person handicapped relay with Cronulla being victorious, finishing in a time of 1 minute 59.89 seconds, 3 seconds outside their nominated time. The Sea Eels swam just over 6 seconds too fast.
Following the swim, all swimmers returned to Helensburgh-Stanwell Park SLSC for the relay trophy presentation, soup, spuds, cool beverages and a BBQ lunch.
Thanks to Cronulla RSL Winter Swimmers for spending the day with us, hope your pool gets fixed up soon.
