This season the club has 6 patrols on Stanwell Park Beach, with an average of 12 members in each patrol who are rostered on for an average of 8 patrols during the season.

There are a number of measures that remain in place to protect life savers and limit the chances of COVID transmission while on patrol.

To ensure the smooth running of patrols

  • Arrive to your patrol on-time
  • The SLSA Patrol Operations APP will be used to sign you on and off patrol, BUT it is essential that you also sign the paper Patrol Log as a record of your patrol attendance.
  • Wear your full Patrol Uniform (Shorts, Shirt, and Patrol Hat).
  • At least 3 Patrol Members (preferably all) must be wearing their Patrol Hats at all times. (Requirement for SLSI Patrol Audit)
  • If you go for a swim, board paddle or surf you must be wearing your Patrol Hat (for visibility)
  • Participate in the patrol.
  • Make sure you arrange a swap if you are unable to make your rostered patrol
    • Use the Patrol Swap Tool in the SLSA Members Portal - Log into http://members.sls.com.au Select Patrols and Patrol Swap
    • If you have problems finding a swap, try the Active Reserve members.
  • Patrol Members are encouraged to use every piece of patrol equipment everytime they are on patrol. Builds confidence and familiarity with the equipment.
  • There are cans of soft drink and bottles of water in the Patrol Room fridge for Patrol members to have whilst on patrol. These are provided by the club.
  • When Nippers is on, lunch will be provided to the AM Patrols. Patrol Captains should inform the Nippers Canteen as to how many members are on.
