Helensburgh-Stanwell Park Surf Life Saving Club Inc has been an incorporated association since 03/04/1995, Incorporation No. Y2151644, operating under the provisions of the Associations Incorporation Act (NSW) 2009.
The Association has been registered as a charitable organisation with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission since 29/01/2013.
The Association is able to conduct charitable fundraising activities in NSW in accordance with the provisions of the Charitable Fundraising Act (NSW) 1991, and is the holder of NSW Charitable Fundraising Authority CFN/26993 valid to 18/03/2027.
Through affiliation with Surf Life Saving NSW Inc, the Club is able to conduct charitable fundraising activities in NSW in accordance with the provisions of the Charitable Fundraising Act (NSW) 1991. Surf Life Saving NSW Inc holds Licence No 11033, valid until 06/06/2024, with the Club listed on the Licence as a “branch”.
The Association has been registered for GST with the Australian Taxation Office since 01/07/2000, and this registration is still current.
The Club has been endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office to access the following tax concessions:
- Income Tax Exemption from 01/07/2000 under Sub-Division 50-B of the Income Tax Assessment Act (Cth) 1997
- GST concessions from 01/07/2005 under Division 176 of A New Tax System (Goods and Services Tax) Act (Cth) 1999
- FBT Exemption from 01/07/2005 under Section 123C of the Fringe Benefits Tax Assessment Act (Cth) 1986
The Club has been endorsed since 01/07/2000 as a Deductible Gift Recipient under the provisions of Sub-Division 30-B of the Income Tax Assessment Act (Cth) 1997.
The premises occupied by the Club and known as the Helensburgh-Stanwell Park Surf Club building, is vested in Wollongong City Council. The club entered into a 21 year lease of the building from Council on 01 November 2018, with the lease expiring on 31 October 2039. The leased area excluded the facilities provided by Council for lifeguards use including amenities and gear storage areas.
