[LIFE SAVING] We wanted to take a moment to thank our volunteer Lifesavers who give up their time to ensure the public has as safe a visit as possible while visiting Stanwell Park Beach during our busiest time of the year; Christmas and New Year period.
During these public holidays we patrolled for 54 hours, there were over 60 rescues, an estimated 2500 preventative actions, with between 12 to 15,000 people visiting the beach. We had three near drownings in the lagoons where ambulances were called, one child was taken to ICU via helicopter.
On top of all that; one sinking boat and jobs involving marine rescue, water police, ambulance helicopter, polair, Coalcliff SLSC etc etc...
MASSIVE THANKS to these faces pictured here plus many more of our members. We would also like to say a big thank you to all the locals who helped out our lifesavers when needed. It really is a community effort to ensure that everyone's time at the beach is a good one!
