Awards of Excellence Nominations

As the 2024-25 season draws to a close, its time to identify and recognise members who have gone above and beyond expectations as a volunteer member.  This ranges from patrol members who attended 100% of their rostered patrols, to our more significant awards including Club Member of the Year, Patrol Member of the Year, and Male and Female Junior Lifesavers of the Year which have already been announced.

Members are invited to submit nominations for our 2024/25 awards, with our Patrol Dinner and Awards Night to be held on Saturday 10 May 2025.  Some award categories are solely Club awards, whilst for other awards, the winner of the Club award will be nominated for the equivalent award at the SLS Illawarra AOE with our nominee competing against members from other Illawarra clubs.

Who can submit a nomination:  

Active patrolling members (15 years and over), Reserve Active members, Associate members, Long Service members and Life members.  A member may only submit one nomination for each award category.

Closing date – Friday 11 April 2025 at 5.00pm.

Note - as patrols continue until Sunday 27 April 2025 and to allow inclusion of relevant patrol information, nominations for Patrol Member of the Year, Youth Surf Lifesaver of the Year, Patrol Captain of the Year, and Rescue of the Year will close on Thursday 1 May 2025 at 5.00pm.

Determination of Awards:  in most cases, the Executive Committee will decide on the winners based on information contained in individual nominations submitted by members.  If a conflict of interest arises for an award (for example an Executive Committee Member is nominated), the President or Deputy President will determine which Executive Committee members may vote for that award.
