After a teleconference with SLSNSW, we have been requested to re-iterate the following points to all Club Members over the Christmas & New Year patrolling period:

  • All Club Members whilst on patrol, should endeavour to wear the appropriate Patrol Uniform and always remember to don a suitable hat, sunscreen & sunglasses. We are expecting extremely hot weather over the Christmas period.
  • All Clubs are reminded to support their patrolling members with hydration and regular breaks where the conditions start to affect one’s wellbeing.
  • Due to increased marine life, could all clubs have an increased presence on the water with the Inflatable Rescue Boat & Rescue Water Craft where available. I do encourage where available & possible to do random patrols on the unpatrolled beaches in your areas.
  • Please remember to take appropriate communications whilst patrolling by land or water in case of any type of emergency.

Lastly, but certainly not least, we also have a dangerous surf warning issued for the next few days.

Remember to keep safe, look after each other & have a happy & safe holiday break.

Yours in lifesaving
