Background
The club is looking to organise an all of club getaway at the very beginning of season 2016/17 as part of member development and to promote membership retention. The driving force behind the weekend away is to assist in the continual development of our younger lifesavers and skill sets into the future. Particularly the idea is to put as many of our young lifesavers through their IRB crew and drivers awards as possible or at least have them adequately skilled up to complete the award quickly back at Stanwell Park.

Proposed Date
The proposed date is to be the weekend of 9-11th September 2016. This is outside our mandated patrolling season and therefore allows all our patrolling members the chance to attend. It also allows us the ability to take as many IRB hulls and motors we think are required to get our younger members skilled up. We understand that this date will clash with the end of some junior winter sports.

Proposed Location
Lake Tabourie Holliday Park just south of Ulladulla. The advantage of Lake Tabourie is that is has both Swell directions covered right at the door step limiting travelling. Additionally there is the lake itself which adds additional protection should conditions dictate more closed waters for activities. This ensures that we are able to complete activities even in a modified form. At 2-1/2 hours from Helensburgh/Stanwell Park it is not overly far for a weekend getaway.

The idea is to reserve a portion of the park where we can be all together. This will allow us to get to know each other across all levels of the club plus minimises disruption to the rest of the park. It allows us a staging area for all our activities

Proposed Activities

  • IRB Awards
  • Junior water Events
  • Lifesaving skills retention (rescue Boards etc)
  • Surf Boats
  • Beach Events (Snr and Jnr)
  • Water Events (Snr and Jnr)

NB: Park also provides a basket ball court, tennis court, putt putt and many other activities outside of surf club activities we can use

Qualified People Required

  • Trainers
  • Assessors
  • Board/Water Coach
  • Beach Coach
  • Accredited Sweep
  • Water Safety (BMs SRCs)
  • General
  • Helpers for any setup/pull down

We are looking to gauge peoples interest in such an event and as such ask that you please fill out the attached online questionnaire to assist us in the preparation of the event. We ask that if you are a parent of junior members that you fill out the questionnaire and also get your kids to fill out the questionnaire so that we get a complete picture of what our membership wants.

We wish to keep costs low to our members but understandably accommodation cost, food and some park activities will come at some cost which will be covered by those members attending and not by the club. Filling out the questionnaire will help us determine what would be a suitable event based on the needs of our members and the club in general .

Note: ALL Attendees will need to be members in order to participate in any events organised by the club
