With temperatures soaring close to the 40’s in the west, it was to be expected that there would be large numbers heading to the Stanwell Park beach for some relief, the NE blew for most of the day and the surf was reasonably calm, cool and a southerly drag down the beach.

With numbers reaching into the 300's there were still no rescues performed and this was due to the patrolling members keeping the swimmers in the flag area and warning those who want to swim outside the flags both north and south of the beach.

Special mention to those who volunteered to assist Iris Huizinga’s morning patrol (Patrol 6)  and to our new BM patrol member Jake Hoepper who was first on the scene to assist a severely disabled youth who had been knocked over in the shore break, well done to all.
