Well done to our Club Members today patrolling Stanwell Park Beach on one of the busiest days of the year.
AM Patrol - Barry McGuinness, Peter McDonald, Ralph Hall, Carl Williams, Guy Ezzadine, Elan Sewell, Jack Dobrowski and Jorja Williams
PM Patrol - Karl Weber, Rodney Hampson, Mike Malherbe, Ava Rushton, Drew Walsh, Jack Bridges, Skye Mortimer and Isaac Pietrzak.
A number of rescues and a couple of swimmers going under who needed further attention, including an ambulance call.
With the most serious rescue (3 swimmers) occuring well towards the southern end of the beach some 400m from the Patrolled Area. The message is clear that when at the beach you must "Swim Between The Flags".
In the mix was a heavy wash across the sandbar pushing swimmers along the beach and multiple blue-bottle stings.
An outstanding effort from all our members to prevent any loss of life, and thanks again for the members who stepped in to help with both patrols.
Our members efforts didn't go unnoticed by the public with this post on facebook
Patrol Members are reminded they should be wearing their Patrol Uniform and Patrol Caps, especially on these busy days so that you can be spotted by the public easily. You should also always be wearing your cap when in the water....The public are watching.
