HARMONY WALK – COOGEE BEACH – SUNDAY 21 OCTOBER 
Come down to Coogee Beach, Sydney at 2pm on Sunday 21 October in a celebration of united Australia! Harmony Walk 2012 will bring together people from different ethnic, national and religious backgrounds in a strong statement in support of fairness and harmony. The Harmony Walk is a project of The Moving Forward Together Association Inc to mark the 10th anniversary of the Bali bombings and to promote a harmonious Australia. The walk is only one kilometre, so people of all ages and abilities can participate. This year will be the first walk of this kind in NSW – so come along and make history! SLSA DROWNING PREVENTION EDUCATION VOLUNTEER - VANUATU
The volunteer will work with VSA to build their capacity in the development and delivery of recognised water safety, lifesaving and drowning prevention education and training programs in Vanuatu. This will be implemented through consultation with local community leaders, resort operators and government officials in order to assess the aquatic safety and injury prevention needs of Vanuatu. ANTIPODEAN ABROAD – CALL FOR CLUB EQUIPMENT  
Mark Zanotto is a member of Towradgi Surf Life Saving Club, and is embarking on a project through “Antipodean Abroad” to teach men, women and children the basics of swimming, First Aid and CPR within a small community on the southern-most atoll of the Maldives. The project is self funded however Mark is seeking assistance and support from Club’s willing to help by donating any old or unused equipment such as kick board, goggles, rash vets, rescue board and any other equipment that isn’t currently in use or needed. SLSNSW DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FACILITATORS 
Want to have the time of your life and get to meet some great young lifesavers from throughout the state? Join the member services team as a development program facilitator!  Development program facilitators play an important role in the planning and delivery of the programs delivered by SLSNSW to support the development of members. As a facilitator, you can build valuable skills in presenting, leadership and mentoring as well as taking the next step on your leadership pathway within surf life saving. FREE TRAINING TO HELP MULTICULTURAL WOMEN STEP UP AS SPORT LEADERS
Women with a multicultural background who aspire to become leaders in community sport and recreation are encouraged to apply for the Multicultural Women’s Sport Leaders Program. The free program, which will be held in Primbee in Wollongong, is designed for women who would like to become more involved in local sporting clubs or community organisations which focus on sport and physical activity. The program aims to develop and enhance the skills, knowledge and networks of women in all aspects of grass roots sport and recreation. It covers a wide range of skills including communication, presentation skills, goal setting, planning and establishing priorities.

Multicultural Women’s Sport Leaders Program
Date: Friday 26 - Saturday 27 October and Saturday 3 November 2012
Time: 9:00am to 5:00pm each day
Venue: Comfort Inn Fairways, 24 Golf Place, Primbee

SURF CLUB FACILITY GRANTS - CLOSING TUESDAY SUBMIT APPLICATIONS ASAP
The Surf Club Facility Development Program assists with the funding of upgrades to local surf life saving clubs. This $2million program offers clubs a significant opportunity to develop and upgrade their facilities so get working on your applications! Clubs still preparing applications or awaiting Council DAs should submit an initial application as soon as possible. Click here for the updated Guidelines and to apply.

START THE NEW SURF S EASON WITH THE HOYTS MOVIE VOUCHER FUNDRAISING INITIATIVE 
Want to raise valuable funds for your club this season? Then the Hoyts Movie voucher fundraising initiative can help you do just that. All it takes is 3 easy steps:

  1. Contact Hoyts to let them know your club will be conducting the Hoyts fundraiser.
  2. Start selling. Give out Supporter Order Forms to all your friends and family and then collect completed Supporter Order Forms with payment at a time nominated by you.
  3. Place your order. Complete the Organiser Order Form with a summary of all Movie Voucher Packs ordered through the Supporter Order Forms and send this to Hoyts.

NSW GOVERNMENT LOOKING FOR YOUNG ADVISORS
The NSW Government is looking for smart and switched on young people who want to help tackle the issues facing their generation to form the NSW Youth Advisory Council. The council will comprise of 12 young members from all over NSW and will provide a direct avenue of communication between young people and the NSW Government. Applications are now open, with all people aged 12 to 25 with experience in youth and community organisations encouraged to apply. 2013 JUNIOR LIFESAVER OF THE YEAR – NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN!
Surf Life Saving New South Wales invites nominations for the 2013 Junior Lifesaver of the Year Program to be held on the 23-26 April 2013 at Collaroy on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. The week long Development Camp brings together the 2013 Branch winners of the Junior Lifesaver of the Year award. ENGINE SWIM OFFER DISCOUNT ON HIGH VISIBILITY RASHIES TO ALL NSW CLUBS
The SLSNSW Board has determined that Season 2012-13 will be the start of an implementation period for the introduction of high visibility competition vests whilst competing in “Surf Carnivals” (see memo). 18-25 DEVELOPMENT NETWORKING PROGRAM
SLSNSW is excited to announce the opening of applications for the 2012 Development Networking Program. This year’s program will be held from Friday 23 November to Sunday 25 November 2012 at the YHA in Sydney. If you are between the ages of 18 – 25 and are passionate about Surf Life Saving please click here for more information and to complete the Registration Form. The annual early season Endurance Championships will head to Swansea Belmont SLSC this year with the event to be held on Sunday 28 October. TOOWOON BAY OCEAN SWIM
The 8th annual T.B.O.S. event is on again at beautiful Toowoon Bay beach. The event date is 1 December 2012 and swim legs include a 400m junior and senior category and 1km & 2km swim events. Registrations begin @ 7.30p.m. with the first event commencing @ 8:45 a.m.

2012 DOLPHIN ENDURO
Entries are now open for the 2012 Dolphin Enduro to be held at Lennox Head Alstonville Surf Club on Saturday 13th October. Competitors from U10 to U17 will compete in an endurance Ironperson event consisting of a swim, board paddle and run.  Entries Close Wednesday 10th October.
