Beach to Bush Presenters WantedWe are calling for enthusiastic and energetic volunteers to present our annual Beach to Bush program from 21-25 November 2016. The Beach to Bush Program is the largest educational initiative of Surf Life Saving and has been delivered to rural NSW schools for over 20 years. The program began as a result of research which highlighted that 50% of people rescued from the surf live more than 50km from the beach. The program aims to educate young people about safety at the beach and other aquatic environments. This year we are visiting schools in the following areas: Casino, Kyogle, Moree, Bogabilla, Glen Innes, Gloucester, Wallabadah, Mudgee, Temora, Forbes and Albury just to name a few! If you are enthusiastic and passionate about Surf Life Saving, and prepared to spend a week on the road spreading the beach safety message, we want you! Find out more and apply now by visiting our website. Sydney Wet ‘n’ Wild Nippers – Partnership with Coastal ClubsA proposed new dimension to the Sydney Wet ‘n’ Wild Nippers program is to encourage members to join a coastal club allowing the Wet ‘n’ Wild Nippers try out some of their new skills on a regular basis, ultimately providing a pathway to further developing their surf skills beyond the Sydney Wet ‘n’ Wild Nipper program. Wet ‘n’ Wild members would participate in Nippers at their coastal club on specific dates - 6 November 2016, 4 December 2016, and 26 February 2017 - and join in their Age Group for a normal Nippers session. We are primarily looking for clubs from the Central Coast, Sydney, Sydney Northern Beaches and Illawarra Branches to partner with this program. If your club is interested in getting involved in this program, please This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Sydney Wet ‘n’ Wild Nippers – Volunteer at Sydney Wet ‘n’ WildWe are working with Wet 'n' Wild Sydney to finalise the details for the 2016-17 season for the Sydney Wet 'n' Wild Nipper. Surf Life Saving NSW will be conducting Sydney Wet ‘n’ Wild Nippers on the dates below.
Each week we need approximately 50 suitably qualified Water Safety personnel and Age Manager Assistants to come and volunteer alongside our Sydney Wet ‘n’ Wild Nipper parents. All volunteers must be proficient in at least one award (e.g. SRC or Bronze Medallion). So why not get a group together and come down to Wet ‘n’ Wild Sydney and spend some time with us as we introduce Surf Life Saving to a whole new generation of kids growing up away from the beach! Dates are first in, first served, so make sure you visit our website and register your club.
