An unusual and unscheduled visitor arrived on Stanwell Park Beach on Sunday, 28 December 2015.

According to the skipper, he had purchased the yacht on eBay for a bargain and was heading to Melbourne when he ran into trouble.

Patrol members offered assistance to the skipper as well as the general public, until it became obvious that the yacht was stuck and it was too dangerous to attempt to return the vessel to open water.

The salavage operation is expected to take place in Monday, 29 December.
