For the first time in over 10 years there will be a surf carnival being held on Stanwell Park Beach, so we are a little rusty when it comes to organising a surf carnival....but we are doing ok so far with the organisation.

What will make it work is many hands, and we have many jobs that need to be done on the day.

The carnival is the 2020 Illawarra Junior Development Carnival being held on Saturday, 1 February 2020.

We will be setting up from 6:00 am for an 8:00 am start. The carnival is expected to run until 1:00 pm latest, then we can pack up.

Many jobs.....

• Beach Setup - Work Party of at least 10 - Beach Area, Flags Area, Water Areas x 2, Tents, Tables and Chairs for each area, general setup on the day
• IRB Drivers and Crew x 8 (2 shifts if possible) need to be available from 6:00 am contact Anthony Ashley This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
• BBQ Chefs and Canteen from 7:00 am to finish
• Registration - 3 people to work with Branch Officials from 7:00 am to 8:30 am - Handing out wrist bands to competitors
• Water Safety from 8:00 am - each competing club supplies their own water safety, but it would be good to have at least 8 board paddlers to assist
• First Aid - 2 people to be available to assist as First Aid Officers - Must have First Aid Certificate
• Carnival Patrol - 4 Patrol Members - Basic Beach Management, IRB Driver and Crew, and ARTC - 8:00 am to 12 noon
• Snack and Food distributors for Officials and Water Safety - Drive the club ATV around to each area and hand out food and drinks to officials - between 9:30 am and 10:30 am, and as required.
• BEACH PACK UP - Work Party (all hands) to packup the beach at the end of the carnival. this should start around 12 noon (all going well).

This is a WHOLE of club event, so we need members from every area of the club to assist on the day...these events benefit the club as a whole not individual groups within the club....your assistance would be appreciated.

The added bonus to being there on the day is getting to see our Nippers participating in a fun and friendly surf carnival and developing their skills as future lifesavers...
