Congratulations to club member Peter Turner on his election to Life Member of Helensburgh-Stanwell Park Surf Life Saving Club.
Peter joined the club and gained his Bronze Medallion 26 years ago, and since that time he has been a dedicated and committed patrol member, a capable Bronze training officer and a competent administrator.
He has given distinguished service to the club over an extended period as a Patrol Captain, and as a member of the Club Executive, and has been acknowledged by his fellow members for his commitment and achievements –

- Leader of the winning patrol, Club Patrol Competition 1998/1999
- Awarded 100% Patrol Attendance for 11 consecutive years 1991/1992 to 2001/2002

- Elected as Club Treasurer 1995/1996 and re-elected each year for a further 6 years
- Elected as Sea Eels Treasurer 1992/1993 and re-elected each year for a further 14 years
- Member of the Club Education Team which won Illawarra Team of the Year for 2013/2014
- Club Educator of the Year 2014/2015 and nominated for Illawarra Educator of the Year

Long Service Member Deputy President and Member of Club Executive Sponsorship Co-ordinator (new position in Club 2015/16); accepted responsibility for canvassing local businesses for donations and sponsorship, gaining four new sponsors and renewed donations from two other companies. Completed and submitted applications for three funding grants, with the Club being successful in gaining a new ATV at half cost, $10,000 in junior activities equipment, and $for$ funding for digital radios for patrol use.
